Mount McGregor Walking Tour at Grant Cottage - a Brookside Museum program

This picturesque mountaintop has hosted thousands of residents and visitors over the last 150 years, from U.S. presidents to TB patients, veteran and prisoners. Join Grant Cottage Historic Site Operations Manager Ben Kemp as he shares the mountain’s compelling and storied history, including tales of tragedy, mystery, romance, and heroism.

This walk will be less than a mile but over varied terrain with some inclines. Drive up Mt McGregor road from Rt 9 in Wilton. Parking is available at Grant’s Cottage.

Donations appreciated. The tour is limited to 30 people.

Many great individual stories about the Grant family and some new artifacts on display. We brought lunch and enjoyed that on the overlook, on a clear day with that spectacular view. Everyone locally needs to visit this well preserved historic site, whether for a tour, enjoy a program, or just to enjoy the property. Linger a while in the gift shop, too.”
